ENTRY REGIME FOR CITIZENS OF THE REPUBLIC OF SERBIA DURING THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC

At least 72 hours before travelling to Saudi Arabia it is neccessary to register the immunisation data on the internet page: https://muqeem.sa/#/vaccine-registration/home. Confirmation of a successful registration is requested (SMS message, printed confirmation of the number of registration, acquired through the Muqeem website). Prior to entry it is mandatory to fill out the forms with basic information and installation of the app Tawakkalna on the smartphone. Citizens of the Republic of Serbia who have the residence permit, are obligated to use the Quddum platform, accessed through the Absheer website, in order to register before arrival.

Persons without a residence permit (visit visa, business and tourism visa holders), cannot enter Saudi Arabia by transiting through Turkey. For these persons entry in to Saudi Arabia is forbidden through airports in Jeddah, Madinah, Yanbu and Taif, in the period from 9th June to 9th July 2022.

Saudi Arabia limits entry into public spaces for non vaccinated, based on the status in the Tawakkalna app. Persons with the status “immunized” are allowed entry into shopping malls, restaurants, shops and markets, with a check of the application.

ENTERING AND LEAVING THE COUNTRY

The passport validity period for tourist travel purposes must be at least six months, which also applies to the regulation of stay.

USEFUL INFORMATION

HEALTH SITUATION – In January 2021, the epidemiological situation was stable with less than 200 new COVID-19 cases per day. Recently, the Ministry of Health of Saudi Arabia has observed an increase in the number of new cases and introduced new measures. As the situation is changing by the hour, travellers should keep themselves updated with relevant travel guidance.

SECURITY SITUATION – Due to frequent terrorist attacks, Serbian citizens are not recommended to travel to Saudi Arabia. There is a possibility of future attacks, either targeted or random, of varying intensity. Possible targets are airports, shopping malls, restaurants or other symbols of the Western culture.

Travelling via the Abha International Airport is not recommended due to frequent rocket attacks. The airports in Jeddah and Riyadh are occasionally closed due to attacks, but so far there has been no major damage or casualties.

As public gatherings are banned in Saudi Arabia, such events should be avoided.

Caution is advised when travelling outside cities and off major roads, especially in the regions bordering Yemen, in the southwest of the country, where sporadic clashes break out, and in the Qatif governorate of the Eastern Province.
