Selakovic sent a telegram of condolences over the death of Karolos Papoulias

Minister of Foreign Affairs of Serbia Nikola Selakovic sent a telegram of condolences to Minister of Foreign Affairs of Greece Nikos Dendias, following the passing away of the former President and Foreign Minister Karolos Papoulias.

The telegram states that with the demise of Karolos Papoulias, Greece lost a great statesman, a popular politician, but also an outstanding diplomat who, with his vision and dedicated work, significantly contributed to preserving and strengthening peace and stability in Southeast Europe as well as the region of Eastern Mediterranean, the Black Sea and the Middle East.

"With the passing away of Karolos Papoulias, Serbia and the Serbian people lost a great and true friend, who made an indelible contribution to the traditionally close relations and cooperation between the two countries", stated Minister Selakovic in the telegram, emphasizing that Karolos Papoulias, owing to his commitment to the highest ideals of freedom and democracy, will be a role model and inspiration to all future generations.
