Today in Brussels, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Serbia Nikola Selaković met with Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic Jan Lipavský.

Minister Selaković informed his colleague about the situation in the Western Balkans, and underlined that peace and stability as well as economic development were of key interest to Serbia.

The ministers discussed the situation in Ukraine, with special reference to the political, energy and humanitarian aspects of the conflict.

Minister Selaković thanked his colleague for the Czech Republic’s principled support to the EU enlargement to the Western Balkans, and conveyed expectations that the Czech Republic would continue to actively support Serbia in the European integration process, especially during its six-month presidency of the Council of the European Union.

Minister Selaković also informed his Czech colleague about the dialogue between Belgrade and Priština. He conveyed Serbia’s firm commitment to solving the problems in Kosovo and Metohija through EU-mediated talks but also noted that Priština constantly obstructed the dialogue with unilateral moves and refusal to honour its obligations.
