02. Dec 2021.
On the margins of the OSCE Ministerial Council in Stockholm, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Serbia Nikola Selakovic had talks with Caretaker Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bulgaria, Svetlan Stoev.

Minister Selakovic stated that bilateral relations were very good, as well as that the political dialogue at the high and top levels was intensive and substantial.

The interlocutors discussed cooperation in the fields of energy, infrastructure and economy, and Selakovic noted that Bulgaria was one of our most important partners in terms of the volume of trade exchange.

The Head of Serbian diplomacy underlined that full EU membership was the strategic goal of the Republic of Serbia and, in this context, thanked Bulgaria for its support to our European integration, stating that their experiences from the accession process would be invaluable to us.

They also paid special attention to the protection of the rights of the Bulgarian national minority in Serbia.

Minister Selakovic said that regional cooperation was one of our priorities, adding that our wish was to connect the region economically, in order to ensure progress and better living conditions through the free flow of people, capital, goods and services.

Selakovic underscored out that regional stability was in the highest interest of Serbia and that our country would continue to promote dialogue as the only means of resolving open issues, both in the negotiation process between Belgrade and Pristina, and in relations with neighbours.
