Serbia and Slovenia mutually recognize vaccination certificates

25. May 2021.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia, Nikola Selaković, said today in Ljubljana that an agreement had been reached that the citizens of Serbia and Slovenia, thanks to the mutual recognition of vaccination certificates, can already travel from one country to another.

During his official visit to Slovenia, Selaković stated that this agreement was reached in the run-up to the visit.

"I know that many Slovenes like to come to Belgrade in Serbia, as well as that many citizens of Serbia like to come to Slovenia, if they have protected their health. I thank you from the bottom of my heart, dear Minister, for the warm hospitality, for the readiness to talk about all topics, and I think that there is a high level of understanding and readiness for cooperation between us", Selaković said after the meeting with his Slovenian colleague Anže Logar.

Serbia and Slovenia have agreed on mutual recognition of all valid certificates of vaccination against COVID-19 and certificates of tests for the presence of corona virus, which were issued in Slovenia and Serbia, respectively, based on the exchange of diplomatic notes and samples of certificates.

"With mutual recognition of vaccination and testing certificates, certificates issued in one country are recognized as having the same legal effects as those issued in another country in accordance with the laws and regulations of each country, when entering and leaving the country, as well as when accessing services", is stated in the agreement between the two countries, which enters into force immediately.
