Minister Dačić with the special representative for the Western Balkans of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Romania

First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dačić spoke with the special representative for the Western Balkans of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Romania, Ambassador Adrian Davidoiu.

Both sides expressed satisfaction and mutually stated that traditional friendship, closeness, and cooperation best describe the bilateral ties between the two countries.

The head of Serbian diplomacy thanked Romania for its principled position regarding the preservation of the territorial integrity of the Republic of Serbia, for supporting the views held by the Republic of Serbia regarding the situation in Kosovo and Metohija, as well as for the continuous support to the Republic of Serbia in the process of European integration.

The special representative for the Western Balkans of the MFA of Romania, Ambassador Adrian Davidoiu, briefly informed Minister Dačić about the basic goals and framework of his mandate and the readiness to strengthen the institutional and economic requirements for the accelerated accession of the Western Balkan countries to the European Union

During the conversation it was pointed out that there is much room for the improvement of economic cooperation, primarily in terms of projects relevant for infrastructure, transport and energy connection between the two countries, as well as green and circular economy. It was noted that the trade exchange between two countries is increasing each year, and that further increase is expected.
