Minister Dačić with Slovenian Minister Fajon

First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dačić met with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Slovenia Tanja Fajon.

During a meaningful and friendly discussion, the two officials agreed that the bilateral relations between the two countries are versatile and have reached a high level.

The two officials exchanged opinions on the most important bilateral issues. The cooperation between the two relevant ministries was commended by both sides, especially in the field of solving the issue of succession of property of the former SFRY.

It was highlighted that it is important to continue to hold joint sessions of the Government of the Republic of Serbia and the Government of the Republic of Slovenia, which is an essential bilateral mechanism for strengthening the overall cooperation.

Issues related to the Republic of Slovenia's support for Serbia's EU integration were also discussed, as well as the latest developments in Kosovo and Metohija.

It was noted that representatives of the diaspora in our countries are the bridge connecting the two countries.

Economic cooperation was also discussed, and it was noted that the volume of foreign trade exchange in goods and services between the two countries came close to 2 billion euros (1,9 billion euros) last year.

Both sides have agreed that the two countries are achieving successful and constructive cooperation in solving the migrant crisis, which is important for maintaining a stable situation on the so-called Western Balkan route.
