DPM and MFA Dačić met with Head of UN Office for Project Services

First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivica Dačić spoke today at the Ministry of Foreign Affairswith Head of the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) Michela Telatin.

DPM and MFA Dačić positively assessed the engagement of the Office in the Republic of Serbia in providing expertise and support with the aim of capacity building for the efficient implementation of numerous development projects which Serbia considers significant and complementary activities of the Government in terms of European integration, as well as in achieving the goals of the 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda.

He thanked for the prompt reaction and high efficiency of the Office even in emergency situations during the Covid-19 pandemic, as well as after the floods of 2014, and conveyed his readiness to continue cooperation.

Head of the Office Michela Telatin informed about the mandate and activities of the Office in Serbia which, apart from its physical presence in Serbia, also covers North Macedonia and Montenegro.

Among the current projects there are projects aimed at supporting the social and economic development of local governments, social housing, as well as the Ministry of Health in managing the project of Reconstruction of four clinical centres in Serbia.

Both interlocutors were pleased to meet again and expressed the wish to continue successful and good cooperation.
