Political relations
Bilateral relations between the Republic of Serbia and the Republic of Burundi are friendly and communication is maintained at a high level.
The First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia at the time, Ivica Dačić, visited Burundi during the period 14-15 February 2018.
The return visit of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Burundi was conducted on 3-4 April 2018.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Burundi visited Belgrade on 20-22 February 2019.
Economic relations
According to data from the Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia, the total trade exchange with Burundi in 2025 amounted to €1.8 million, of which €1.8 million referred to exports from the Republic of Serbia and €7 thousands to imports.
