Selaković thanked Iraq for supporting Serbia's territorial integrity

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Serbia, Nikola Selaković, met today in Belgrade with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iraq, Fuad Hussein.

Selaković, welcoming his interlocutor to the gathering on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the first conference of the Non-Aligned Movement, pointed out that the former Yugoslavia and Iraq had excellent relations both bilaterally and within that movement, and that Serbia today proudly inherits the tradition of close cooperation with Iraq.

Minister Selaković conveyed Serbia's interest in deepening the political dialogue between the two countries and intensifying the meetings at the high and highest level.

According to the interlocutors, our two countries have a long history of economic cooperation, and it is necessary to make efforts to renew business ties between Serbia and Iraq in the interest of both sides, and there is a special interest in cooperation in agriculture, construction and tourism.

Minister Selaković thanked his interlocutor for Iraq's principled support for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Serbia, expressing expectation that mutual support in multilateral organizations will continue.
