Need to strengthen the cooperation with Burkina Faso

Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Nikola Selakovic met today with non-resident Ambassador of Burkina Faso Dieudonné Kere.

Selakovic stated that Serbia was committed to strengthening relations with Burkina Faso and conveyed our readiness to intensify political dialogue and exchange visits at the high and top levels.

The Minister said that one of the important steps in that direction was the meeting he had with Foreign Minister Mamadou Alpha Barry on the sidelines of the commemorative event held to mark the 60th anniversary of the Non-Aligned Movement, adding that he will have the opportunity to pay a bilateral visit to Burkina Faso next year.

The Head of Serbian diplomacy pointed out that our country was interested in promoting the economic cooperation, highlighting in particular the field of agriculture.

When it comes to education, Selakovic informed his interlocutor about the successful implementation of the "World in Serbia" programme, emphasizing our wish to enable as many students from friendly countries as possible to acquire education in our country.

The interlocutors exchanged their countries’ experiences in dealing with coronavirus, and Minister Selakovic conveyed that Serbia was helping friendly countries fight the pandemic, within the scope of its capacities.
