Need to promote the overall cooperation between Serbia and the Kyrgyz Republic

02. Dec 2021.
On the fringes of the OSCE Ministerial Council, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Nikola Selakovic met with Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Ruslan Kazakbaev.

Minister Selakovic pointed out that the relations between the two countries were traditionally good and without open issues, but that efforts should be made towards their additional intensification. In that sense, Selakovic said that mutual visits at the highest and high levels would be very useful for the further strengthening of cooperation.

He invited Minister Kazakbaev to pay a visit to Serbia, but also expressed interest in visiting the Kyrgyz Republic himself in the foreseeable future.

The Head of Serbian diplomacy expressed special gratitude for the firm position maintained by that country on the issue of Kosovo and Metohija, expressing the expectation that such unequivocal support would continue both bilaterally and in international organizations.

Selakovic assessed that economic cooperation did not match the friendly relations between the two countries. He pointed to the potentials in the fields of agriculture, energy, food and textile industry, particularly stressing the need to regulate the treaty and legal basis in the field of economy as soon as possible.
