The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia, Marko Đurić, visited the Yad Vashem Memorial Complex in Jerusalem today, reaffirming Serbia’s deep commitment to preserving the memory of the Holocaust victims and standing in solidarity with the Jewish people against any form of historical revisionism.

Following his visit, Minister Đurić emphasized that this year marks the 80th anniversary of the victory over fascism and Nazism—an occasion that further underscores the importance of fostering a culture of remembrance. He highlighted the responsibility of both present and future generations to safeguard the memory of the victims, acknowledge the atrocities committed, and gain a deeper understanding of the ideology that led to the Holocaust.

"As a descendant of Holocaust survivors, I take great pride in coming from a country where many risked their lives to help Jewish people survive during World War II. Serbia is among the nations with the highest number of recipients of the Righteous Among the Nations medal," the Serbian Foreign Minister stated.

Minister Đurić also recalled that, under the initiative of President Aleksandar Vučić, Serbia has taken meaningful steps to honor the victims of the Holocaust, including the restitution of property to the descendants of those who perished.

He reaffirmed Serbia’s unwavering support for Israel, its commitment to Holocaust remembrance, and its rejection of historical revisionism.

Furthermore, he underscored that the commemoration of eight decades since the liberation of the Jasenovac concentration camp serves as a solemn reminder of the need for unity in rejecting historical distortion. He stressed the importance of ensuring that educational systems adequately and accurately convey the lessons of World War II, so that history is neither forgotten nor misrepresented.
