Minister Đurić spoke with British Minister Stephen Doughty
In a telephone conversation, Marko Đurić informed the British minister about the situation in Kosovo and Metohija, and of Belgrade's position regarding the recent sabotage on the Ibar-Lepenac canal in the municipality of Zubin Potok.
Serbia, as pointed out in the conversation, insists on an investigation, which is to be conducted, under strict international supervision in order to determine who ordered and carried out the attack on a vital infrastructure facility in Kosovo and Metohija, as well as to clarify what is the political background of this event.
Đurić explained that Serbia will provide all the necessary assistance in order to shed light on the circumstances and provide that the investigation leads to those responsible. Minister of Foreign Affairs also stated that international partners can count on full cooperation from our side.
On this occasion Marko Đurić also warned of Pristina's attempts to unfoundedly and without any evidence link Belgrade to this incident, pointing out that this is another attempt by Aljbin Kurti's regime to discredit Serbia and divert attention from the fact that the Serbian people in Kosovo and Metohija are subject to daily physical and legal violence, and that disenfranchisement and oppression of Serbs has became institutionalised.
Minister of Foreign Affairs concluded that it is very important for the international community, until the investigation gives certain results, to support Belgrade's efforts to preserve peace and stability in the region, and stop Kurti's irresponsible attempts to use this situation to continue destabilizing the region to support his own pre-election agenda.
