The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia, Marko Đurić, signed the book of condolences today at the premises of the Apostolic Nunciature in Belgrade, opened on the occasion of the passing of His Holiness Pope Francis.

Extending his condolences to the Holy See and the grieving faithful, Minister Đurić remarked that Pope Francis was a great spiritual leader and a true man of Christian solidarity, whose pontificate was marked by a powerful message of peace, dialogue, and social justice, as well as an unwavering commitment to the fight against poverty, marginalization, and climate change.

As stated in his message, Pope Francis left an indelible mark on the modern world—not only as a religious leader but also as a moral authority whose words and actions transcended the boundaries of religion, culture, and continents.

"His faith in humanity, his call for brotherhood and reconciliation, and his genuine humility made him loved and respected around the world. His spiritual legacy and universal message of kindness and hope will continue to live on as a guiding light in a time full of challenges," Đurić wrote.
