The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia, Marko Đurić, received today the Australian Ambassador Daniel Emery on his farewell visit and expressed his gratitude for Emery's valuable and dedicated efforts in fostering the development of bilateral relations.

Minister Đurić highlighted his readiness to continue working on enhancing the relationship between Serbia and Australia, noting the substantial potential for more intensive and mutually beneficial cooperation, particularly in the field of information technology.

In the forthcoming period, as Đurić noted, efforts should be made to intensify political dialogue and to organize high-level meetings, given that the year 2026 marks the significant milestone of 60 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations.

During their cordial conversation, Minister Đurić and Ambassador Emery reflected on the pivotal role of the Serbian community in Australia as a crucial bridge in the relations between the two nations. They also shared experiences of collaboration with countries in the Pacific region, with which Serbia aims to build partnerships and friendly ties.

Wishing Ambassador Emery success and happiness in his new role, Minister Đurić expressed his hope that Serbia and Belgrade will remain fondly in his memory and that he will continue to promote the positive bilateral relations between Serbia and Australia in the future.
