Minister Đurić with the European Commissioner for Enlargement, Marta Kos
Đurić expressed his satisfaction that the region crucial to Serbia is overseen by someone with considerable experience who can appreciate the efforts Serbia is making on its European path. He emphasized that EU membership is a strategic commitment and the priority of Serbia's foreign policy, with the ambitious goal to implement all necessary reforms for accession by the end of 2026.
The Minister outlined the steps Serbia has taken to maintain stability, and both parties agreed on the urgent need to initiate a dialogue involving all societal elements in Serbia at this time.
The head of Serbian diplomacy highlighted that the EU accession process requires intense efforts from the entire society and should be a national project owned by all societal actors, making inclusive social dialogue, along with social responsibility, essential.
Emphasizing that the EU is Serbia's top economic partner—accounting for two-thirds of Serbian goods exports, half of service exports, and three-fifths of all foreign direct investments—the chief of Serbian diplomacy thanked for the support for reforms and financial assistance for their implementation.
