Minister Đurić confers with President of the National Council of the Swiss Parliament

During his visit to Bern, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia, Marko Đurić, met today with Maja Riniker, President of the National Council (Lower House) of the Swiss Federal Assembly.

Minister Đurić assessed that the bilateral relations between the Republic of Serbia and the Swiss Confederation are strong and dynamic, and conveyed Serbia’s commitment to further strengthening political dialogue and cooperation.

He emphasized in particular the importance of enhancing parliamentary cooperation and increasing contact between the members of the two national assemblies.

Minister Đurić also highlighted the role of parliamentary friendship groups, which have been established both in the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia and in the current composition of the Swiss Parliament.

The two sides also discussed economic cooperation between Serbia and Switzerland, as well as relevant regional issues.

On this occasion, Minister Đurić extended an invitation on behalf of Ana Brnabić, President of the National Assembly of Serbia, for her Swiss counterpart to visit Serbia, with the aim of further advancing inter-parliamentary cooperation between the two countries.
