Minister Đurić confers with the Parliamentary Friendship Group Switzerland–Serbia
Minister Đurić emphasized the importance of continued dialogue and cooperation between the two countries, underscoring that the relations between Serbia and Switzerland are founded on mutual respect, shared interests, and the strong ties of the Serbian diaspora in Switzerland.
He expressed Serbia’s appreciation for Switzerland’s support in the reform process, as well as its assistance in the fields of economic development, education, and institutional strengthening.
The meeting highlighted the significant role of Switzerland in the area of dual education, a cooperation reaffirmed through the joint organization of the First Serbia–Switzerland Innovation Forum, held in Belgrade at the end of last year.
Regarding the regional context, Minister Đurić underlined Serbia’s commitment to developing good neighborly relations and contributing to regional stability through economic and infrastructure projects that foster better development opportunities and faster growth.
He also informed his counterparts of the current situation in Kosovo and Metohija and the state of the Belgrade–Pristina dialogue, drawing attention to the ongoing unilateral actions and provocations faced by the Serbian population.
The two sides exchanged views on enhancing parliamentary cooperation, tapping into economic and investment potential, and the importance of joint engagement in addressing global challenges.
Members of the Swiss Parliament expressed their readiness to continue supporting bilateral relations and emphasized the role of parliamentary diplomacy in strengthening the friendship between the two countries. It was noted that there is further room for advancing cooperation, both bilaterally and within the framework of international forums.
The meeting of the Parliamentary Friendship Group Switzerland–Serbia was chaired by Co-Chairman Christian Imark, and attended by members of the Swiss People's Party, Social Democratic Party, and Green Liberal Party.
