Minister Đurić confers with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Burkina Faso

On the sidelines of the Antalya Diplomacy Forum, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia, Marko Đurić, met with Karamoko Jean-Marie Traoré, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Regional Cooperation and Diaspora of Burkina Faso.

Recalling the historical friendship between the two nations, Minister Đurić emphasized that Serbia proudly upholds the legacy of Yugoslavia’s foreign policy from the time of the founding of the Non-Aligned Movement.

In that context, Đurić underlined that Serbia is firmly committed to advancing overall bilateral relations and cooperation with Burkina Faso, building on these long-standing ties of friendship.

He noted that there is significant potential to deepen cooperation in the fields of agriculture, as well as in emerging technologies and education.

Highlighting the importance of the “World in Serbia” program, which offers opportunities for young people—especially those from the African continent—to pursue higher education in Serbian universities, Minister Đurić expressed Serbia’s readiness to increase the number of scholarships available to students from Burkina Faso.

On this occasion, the Serbian Foreign Minister also thanked Burkina Faso for confirming its participation in the upcoming EXPO 2027 in Belgrade, emphasizing that the exhibition presents an excellent opportunity to further strengthen ties between the two countries.
