Minister Đurić confers with Malta’s Foreign Minister

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia, Marko Đurić, met today on the sidelines of the Ministerial Meeting in Taormina with the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Republic of Malta, Ian Borg.

Minister Đurić expressed his gratitude to the Republic of Malta for its principled support to Serbia in the process of European integration, as well as for its consistent advocacy of the European Union’s enlargement policy.

He emphasized that Serbia’s European path remains a strategic priority and noted that the messages conveyed during today’s meeting of European countries were encouraging—both for Serbia and for the wider Western Balkans region.

The Minister also underscored the importance of Serbia’s cooperation with the Council of Europe and expressed his expectation that the Maltese Presidency of this institution would serve as a strong impetus for continued collaboration in advancing Serbia’s reform efforts and implementing joint projects of direct benefit to its citizens.

The two ministers agreed on the need to deepen bilateral cooperation, particularly in the field of economic relations. They underlined the importance of maintaining a continuous political dialogue and cooperation aimed at strengthening the overall ties between the two countries.

Recognizing the growing interest among citizens of both nations in mutual visits, the ministers also highlighted the significant potential for enhancing cooperation in the area of tourism.
