Minister Dacic receives the newly-appointed Ambassador of India

First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivica Dacic met today with the newly-appointed Ambassador of the Republic of India to the Republic of Serbia Shubhdarshini Tripathi.

Minister Dacic welcomed the new Ambassador of India and wished her success in her work. He emphasized the significance of the Serbia-India decades-long friendship and cooperation, recalling that our two countries were marking the 75th anniversary since the establishment of diplomatic relations this year.

Dacic expressed satisfaction with the intensification of bilateral relations between the two countries, to which a significant contribution was made by the recent historic visit to Serbia by the President of India Droupadi Murmu.

The Serbian Foreign Minister expressed special gratitude for the principled position of the Republic of India regarding the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Serbia, and its support to our positions on the issue of Kosovo and Metohija.

In terms of economic cooperation, Minister Dacic welcomed the engagement of Indian business giants in the Serbian market so far, expressing his belief that cooperation in this area would be further promoted in the period ahead.

Ambassador Tripathi pointed out that she would focus her activities in the Republic of Serbia on raising the relations between Serbia and India to a new and even higher level, and that she would strive to contribute to the further strengthening of cooperation between the two friendly countries in numerous areas of common interest.
