Minister Dacic participated in the 47th meeting of the Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs of BSEC Member States

First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic participated today in the 47th meeting of the Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the member states of the Organization of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (BSEC), held in an online format and chaired by Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Türkiye Hakan Fidan.

In his statement, Minister Dacic thanked the members of the Organization for the constructiveness they demonstrated, especially during the recent Serbian Chairmanship-in-Office, which made it possible to resolve some long-standing open issues. While emphasizing the strategic, economic and infrastructural significance of the Black Sea region and its potential, he expressed his belief that the Organization of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation was able to offer solutions to overcome all current challenges, on the basis of mutual respect and understanding and responsible conduct of all stakeholders.

Minister Dacic commended the adoption of the updated Economic Agenda, an important strategic document of the Organization, as well as the decisions to extend the mandate of the Secretary General, Ambassador Lazãr Comănescu, and the national experts on his team.

In his concluding remarks, Minister Dacic reiterated that the Republic of Serbia, as a reliable partner within BSEC, was committed to continuing to contribute to the strengthening of this important regional platform for dialogue and cooperation.
