Minister Dacic meets with the Foreign Minister of Saint Lucia

First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic met with Minister of External Affairs, International Trade, Civil Aviation and Diaspora Affairs of Saint Lucia Alva Romanus Baptiste.

This visit reflects the continuation of the intensification of bilateral political dialogue, after the meeting the two ministers held on the margins of the 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, on 20 September 2023.

In a cordial and friendly conversation, views were exchanged on bilateral and current global affairs. Both sides expressed satisfaction with the dynamic of the development of bilateral relations, based on mutual understanding and support on priority issues.

Mutual readiness was expressed for the further strengthening of political dialogue and economic ties, as well as cooperation in all areas of common interest, primarily police, cultural, educational and sports cooperation. Minister Dacic expressed special gratitude for Saint Lucia’s support to Serbia’s bid to host the International World Exhibition EXPO 2027.

Minister Dacic also informed his interlocutor in detail about the issue of Kosovo and Metohija and the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina, while expressing his gratitude to Saint Lucia for supporting the preservation of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Serbia.

They affirmed mutual commitment to respecting the fundamental principles of international law and the UN Charter.

The importance of Serbia’s participation, as an observer, in the work of organizations in the Caribbean region, of which Saint Lucia is a full member, was also emphasized.
