Minister Dacic confers with the British Minister for Europe

First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivica Dacic received today Leo Docherty, Minister for Europe at the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

Europe Minister Leo Docherty noted that he was particularly pleased to have the opportunity to visit Belgrade again and speak with First Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Dacic.

Both sides emphasized the importance of further strengthening the high- and top-level dialogue. The interlocutors agreed that there was room for promoting cooperation in various fields, especially in the economy, energy and digitalization.

In the talks, Minister Dacic informed the British side about the latest developments in Kosovo and Metohija and the necessity to protect the Serbian population, while expressing the readiness of our side to make efforts to de-escalate tensions.

He highlighted the commitment of the Republic of Serbia to the development of regional cooperation and added that the preservation of peace and stability remained one of our main priorities.

The officials agreed that a constructive continuation of the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina was the key to regional stability and security.
