Meeting Between Minister Đurić and the President of Uzbekistan
Noting that bilateral relations between Serbia and Uzbekistan are traditionally good, friendly, and without outstanding issues, Minister Đurić conveyed Serbia’s clear commitment to continuing and expanding cooperation in all areas of mutual interest.
The interlocutors also reflected on last year’s visit of the President of the Republic of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić to Uzbekistan, observing the strong momentum it had generated in bilateral relations. During the meeting, Minister Đurić conveyed President Vučić’s invitation to President Mirziyoyev to visit Serbia.
As Minister Đurić emphasized, the two countries share very similar positions on many important international issues, making the preservation and strengthening of political dialogue at all levels particularly significant.
The head of Serbian diplomacy expressed gratitude for Uzbekistan’s support for the preservation of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Serbia.
Speaking about economic relations, Minister Đurić noted that Uzbekistan, as a rapidly growing economy, represents an important partner for Serbia in that part of the world, adding that there is a clear intention to further develop cooperation, increase overall trade exchange, and strengthen economic connectivity between the two countries. In this regard, he underlined the significance of the recently concluded Agreement on Economic Cooperation between Serbia and Uzbekistan.
The Minister also stressed that Serbia highly values Uzbekistan’s confirmation of participation in the Specialized Expo 2027 exhibition, emphasizing that, as host, Serbia will make every effort to ensure that this country of rich culture and history is presented in the best possible manner.
