Intensive cooperation of Serbia and Slovenia in all fields

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Serbia, Nikola Selaković, has discussed today in New York with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Slovenia, Anže Logar.

Minister Selaković confirmed good bilateral relations and intensified cooperation realized by Serbia and Slovenia in all fields, characterized by dynamic political dialog and successful economic and commercial cooperation. As evidence to this, according to his words, there is the establishment of practice of regular meetings of ministers of foreign affairs on a six-month level.

Selaković especially emphasized that Slovenia was one of the most important economic partners and one of the greatest investors in Serbia, with more than billion euros invested, mentioning that increased investments by Serbian companies in Slovenia was noticeable.

The Serbian Foreign Minister thanked for constant support of Slovenia to the European path of Serbia expressing hope that Slovenian chairmanship to the EU would express greater understanding and readiness with regards to European integrations of our country.

Selaković said also that the regional stability is one of key interests of Serbia and especially emphasized the “Open Balkan” initiative, whose goal is to deepen economic cooperation and the development of the entire region. He informed the interlocutor on the results of economic reforms in Serbia in the past seven years.

Minister Selaković introduced his interlocutor to the current situation in Kosovo and Metohija and the attempt of unilateral imposition of measures of Priština which violate the freedom of movement and also to the current failure of Priština to observe and implement Brussel Agreement. He repeated that Serbia remained committed to peace and stability in the region and dialog as the only constructive manner to solve conflicts in a compromised manner.
