Foreign Ministers of Serbia and Jordan discuss enhancement of cooperation

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia, Marko Đurić, met today in New York, on the margins of the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly, with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan Ayman Safadi.

Minister Đurić highlighted the good and stable political relations between Serbia and Jordan, underlining the clear mutual will to further strengthen them. He placed particular emphasis on the importance of developing cooperation in areas of common interest, notably in transport and infrastructure.

The Serbian Foreign Minister conveyed Serbia’s readiness to intensify political dialogue in the coming period. He welcomed Jordan’s confirmed participation in the specialized Expo 2027 exhibition to be held in Belgrade, assessing it as an important step in deepening the economic and cultural exchange between the two countries.

Minister Đurić also announced the expected opening of the Embassy of the Republic of Serbia in Amman, noting that this would contribute to more intensive institutional cooperation and to Serbia’s stronger presence in the Middle East region.

During today’s meeting, the ministers signed an Agreement on the Abolition of Visas for Holders of Official and Diplomatic Passports between the Governments of Serbia and Jordan.
