FM Selaković: Serbia prepared to strengthen its cooperation with Somalia
Minister Selaković noted that the relations between our two countries are good, but also stressed the need to work on intensifying political dialogue and strengthening overall cooperation.
Pointing out that visits at a high and highest level would further contribute to such efforts, Foreign Minister Selaković invited H.E. Minister Ali to pay an official visit to Serbia.
The head of Serbian MFA welcomed the reopening of the Somali embassy in Belgrade, emphasizing that this decision is of great importance for the improvement of bilateral contacts.
Foreign Minister Selaković particularly stressed that Serbia is interested in improving economic cooperation and trade with Somalia, especially in the fields of agriculture, commerce and IT industry.
The two foreign ministers discussed the ongoing struggle of their countries against the COVID 19 pandemic, and FM Selaković said that Serbia is ready to provide assistance in vaccines, in accordance with its capacities.
The ministers also exchanged views on current international events, Serbian Foreign Minister offered Serbian help in the evacuation of Somali students currently residing in Ukraine, as well as their temporary accommodation in Serbia so that they may continue their education.
