Farewell meeting between Minister Selaković and the Ambassador of Qatar

Minister Selaković assessed that bilateral relations are good and friendly and expressed the readiness of our country to improve the political dialogue.

Speaking about economic cooperation, Selaković stated that it is relatively modest in scope and pointed out the significant potential for its improvement. The Minister especially underlined Serbia's interest in the growth of Qatari investments, strengthening trade exchange and planning new business.

Minister Selaković informed his interlocutor about the celebration of the significant jubilee of the Non-Aligned Movement, which will be marked in Belgrade in October – 60 years since the first Conference, sending an invitation and expressing hope that high representatives of Qatar will attend this gathering.

The interlocutors exchanged experiences of the fight of the two countries against the corona virus so far and agreed that the crisis that the whole world is facing can only be overcome by joint forces, solidarity and joint action. Selaković expressed gratitude to Qatar for the friendly help sent to Serbia last year in the form of medical equipment.

The head of Serbian diplomacy thanked Ambassador Al Thani for his personal engagement and contribution to the development of overall bilateral relations and wished him a lot of professional success in the upcoming period.
