Đurić: Upcoming Expo 2027 is important for Serbia’s global repositioning

Minister of Foreign Affairs of Serbia Marko Đurić met today with Secretary General of the International Bureau of Exhibitions (Bureau International des Expositions - BIE) Dimitri Kerkentzes discussing topics of importance for the upcoming Specialized Exhibition Expo 2027, to be hosted by Serbia.

Đurić expressed his appreciation to the BIE Secretary General Kerkentzes and his team for their dedication in preparing and organizing this highly significant event for Serbia.

The head of Serbian diplomacy said that the upcoming EXPO 2027 was very important for Serbia’s global repositioning, adding that the event would provide a platform for participants and guests from all corners of the world to experience first-hand what the country has to offer.

The fact that Serbia was given the rare opportunity and selected to host this prestigious exhibition among many contenders reflects the country’s development and progress, Đurić said, noting the challenge ahead in ensuring that EXPO 2027 in Belgrade emerges as the best to date.

The Minister highlighted that a recurring topic in his meetings and talks with officials around the world since the beginning of his tenure has been the importance of Expo 2027 and Serbia's desire, as the host, to have as many countries as possible participate in this specialized world exhibition.

Đurić also emphasized that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs was ready to contribute with all its capacities to the organization of this important global event.
