Djuric in talks with Kombos: Firm and reliable friendship between Serbia and Cyprus

Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Marko Djuric affirmed today in his first telephone conversation with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Cyprus, Constantinos Kombos, that the brotherly relations between the two countries as well as their further development were a lasting commitment of Serbian foreign policy.

Minister Djuric noted that political relations between Serbia and Cyprus were based on firm and reliable friendship, as well as mutual understanding and support on issues of essential state and national importance.

According to the Minister, Serbia provided full and unreserved support to the efforts being made by Cyprus to resolve its most important national issue, with the aim of preserving territorial integrity and sovereignty.

Minister Djuric thanked his interlocutor for the consistent position of Cyprus on the issue of Kosovo and Metohija, and informed him about the course of the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina, as well as about the problems faced by the Serbian people in our southern province.

The Serbian Foreign Minister thanked his Cypriot colleague for the support lent by that country to Serbia on the path to full membership of the EU, emphasizing that Serbia would continue to make credible efforts in terms of internal reforms and alignment with common European values ​​and policies.

The ministers expressed their mutual readiness to meet as soon as possible, in order to continue the tradition of regular contacts at the high and top levels between the two friendly countries.
