Djuric: Serbia values the friendship and support of Suriname
The Head of Serbian diplomacy expressed satisfaction with the close and friendly ties between Belgrade and Paramaribo, which, based on shared values, mutual respect and substantive cooperation, have lasted for almost five decades.
Minister Djuric pointed out that Serbia highly values the support of the Surinamese side on the international level, especially in terms of preserving the integrity of our country, emphasizing that Suriname was the first country to revoke its recognition of the unilaterally declared independence of the so-called Kosovo in 2017.
Assessing that there was room for further improvement of the excellent bilateral relations, Minister Djuric conveyed Serbia's interest in increasing the trade volume as well as in further strengthening the overall economic cooperation, primarily in the field of agriculture and food industry.
Minister Djuric said that a special place in relations is occupied by educational cooperation, the brightest example of which is the scholarship project for foreign students "World in Serbia", which gives the opportunity to Surinamese students to study in our country and get to know better the Serbian culture.
