Djuric: EU is incomplete without Serbia

15. Jul 2024.
As part of his official visit to the Czech Republic, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Marko Djuric met today in Prague with Czech Minister for European Affairs Martin Dvořák.

Expressing his satisfaction with the meaningful and frequent political dialogue, Minister Djuric extended his gratitude to the Czech side for its continued support in achieving our key foreign policy goal - full membership of the European Union.

"We plan to complete the reform process in the next three years - primarily on the legislative, economic and political levels. Serbia belongs in the EU, but the EU is not complete without Serbia either", Djuric emphasized.

The head of Serbian diplomacy noted as significant that the Czech Republic, as a member of the informal "Friends of Western Balkans" group, as well as within the Visegrad and Slavkov groups, was advocating for a faster European integration of our entire region, recognizing its geostrategic importance.

"You can count on us to preserve regional stability, because we have a sincere desire to promote relations with everyone in the Western Balkans", the Minister underlined on that occasion.

Bearing in mind that the EU was the leading economic market for our country, and that the Czech Republic played an important role in this context, according to all foreign trade parameters, Minister Djuric informed his interlocutor about the activities of our country in the preparation of the Reform Agenda, which, together with the implementation of other envisaged reforms, would further deepen regional economic integration and bring the Western Balkans closer to the EU single market.

Special attention during the talks was devoted to the situation in Kosovo and Metohija and the course of dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina.
