Djuric congratulates Szijjártó on election win

Minister of Foreign Affairs Marko Djuric had talks today with Hungarian Ambassador to the Republic of Serbia Jozsef Magyar, discussing the current political situation in the region and Europe.

In light of the recently held elections for the European Parliament, the interlocutors exchanged views on the preliminary results and the possible orientation of the European policy in the period ahead.

Noting that Serbia carefully followed the holding of elections in the 27 member states of the European Union, Minister Djuric extended congratulations to his counterpart Péter Szijjártó on the win and the good result of the Fidesz political party, assessing that this was a signal of continuity in close and friendly relations between our two countries.

In this context, it was agreed to continue the excellent cooperation at the political level, as well as joint coordination on important international issues, including the upcoming Summit on Peace in Ukraine to be held in Switzerland.
