Đurić confers with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Burundi
Minister Đurić reaffirmed Serbia’s commitment to fostering relations and cooperation with all African nations with which it shares a long-standing friendship. He expressed Serbia’s readiness and openness to build upon these historic foundations and further strengthen bilateral ties.
Welcoming the establishment of a more regular high-level political dialogue between Serbia and Burundi, Minister Đurić emphasized that this would provide additional momentum to elevate the friendship and cooperation between the two countries in areas of mutual interest.
He further noted that, like other African nations, Serbia remains committed to upholding the principles of international law and the sovereignty of states in the global arena.
Minister Đurić expressed his gratitude to Burundi for its support of Serbia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. He highlighted that Kosovo and Metohija is a key national and state priority, briefing his counterpart on the current situation and the challenging circumstances faced by the Serbian people in the southern province.
Recognizing the significant potential for strengthening economic cooperation, Minister Đurić underscored opportunities for closer collaboration in the IT sector and in agriculture. He also expressed satisfaction with the ongoing success of educational cooperation through the "World in Serbia" scholarship program for international students.
Finally, Minister Đurić informed his counterpart about the upcoming Specialized Expo 2027 in Belgrade, emphasizing that the event will serve as an opportunity for participants from around the world to display their culture and traditions.
