Đurić confers with Kaja Kallas
During the meeting, Đurić expressed Serbia's expectation of continued good cooperation with the EU High Representative throughout Kaja Kallas's tenure. He emphasized the importance of her view that the Western Balkans region is crucial for the EU and her desire to see progress in the enlargement process during her mandate. The Minister Đurić expressed hope that joint efforts would overcome the current stagnation in Serbia's EU accession process.
Đurić pointed out the importance of opening Cluster 3 as soon as possible, explaining that it would provide additional impetus for implementing all necessary reforms by the end of 2026, a strategic goal set by Serbia.
The Chief of Serbian diplomacy reiterated that full EU membership remains Serbia's foreign policy priority, underscoring that Serbia is a credible EU partner committed to deepening overall cooperation with the Union.
He added that the EU is Serbia's most significant economic partner by all measures.
Regarding Kosovo and Metohija, Đurić thanked Kallas for her readiness to personally engage in the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue and her desire to assist in the normalization process.
The meeting also covered cooperation and connectivity in the Western Balkans, with Đurić conveying Serbia's commitment to enhancing regional cooperation, which directly contributes to building mutual trust, facilitating reconciliation, and promoting overall development on the path to full EU membership.
