Djuric: Belgrade is committed to dialogue, peace and stability
Reiterating the commitment of Belgrade to the continuation of the dialogue as the only proper way to solve our most important national issue, Minister Djuric pointed out that ever since Albin Kurti took office as head of the provisional institutions in Pristina in the fall of 2021, there was a drastic deterioration as to the position of the Serbian and other non-Albanian population, as well as the overall decline in the situation in the province at all levels.
"Kurti's regime is continuously attacking the EU-facilitated dialogue process and applying repressive measures aimed at creating a monoethnic Kosovo and Metohija, thereby directly undermining the goals of the international community", Djuric pointed out.
The head of Serbian diplomacy conveyed to his interlocutor that Belgrade supported the Draft Statute of the Community of Serb Municipalities drawn up by the European Union, while continuing to insist on the full implementation of the Brussels agreements of 2013 and 2015, as well as everything agreed upon so far with European mediation.
Recalling the fact that more than 200,000 people have left Kosovo and Metohija since 1999, and that more than 14% of Serbs have left the territory of Kosovo and Metohija in the past year alone, Djuric reiterated his concern about the systematic persecution and violation of individual and collective human, economic, cultural, and political rights of non-majority communities there, predominantly Serbs.
The Minister emphasized that Serbia would continue to be committed to peace and stability in the region and do everything in its power to protect the interests of its people and ensure their safety and survival, which were facing a dramatically high level of threat as a result of the long-term destructive actions of Pristina.
