Diplomatic Corps visits Topola and Oplenac

07. Oct 2025.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia, Marko Đurić, hosted a formal luncheon today on the occasion of the visit of heads of diplomatic missions and representatives of international organizations accredited in the Republic of Serbia to the Municipality of Topola. The visit was organized within the framework of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ traditional activities aimed at promoting Serbia’s cultural and historical heritage.

Members of the diplomatic corps visited the historic complex of Karađorđe’s Town in Topola, the Church of Saint George — the endowment of King Peter I Karađorđević — as well as the Royal Winery, one of the symbols of the winemaking tradition of this region. A particular impression was left by the visit to the endowment complex at Oplenac, where the guests had the opportunity to become acquainted with the cultural and spiritual heritage of Serbian statehood and the Karađorđević dynasty.

At the formal luncheon held on this occasion, Minister Đurić emphasized that the visit was an opportunity to present the beauty and potential of the Šumadija region.

“Topola and Oplenac are places where history, tradition, and the vision of the future intertwine — a message we wish to convey, that together with our friends from around the world we continue to build relations of mutual trust, understanding, and cooperation,” Minister Đurić concluded.
