Dacic confers with Special Envoy for the Balkans Troccaz

First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic met today with René Troccaz, Special Envoy for the Balkans of the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs of the French Republic.

In the talks with Special Envoy Troccaz, Minister Dacic highlighted the importance of good overall relations and strategic partnership existing between Serbia and France. He referred to regional cooperation and emphasized Serbia's commitment to good-neighbourly cooperation and willingness to discuss all issues in an open and constructive way.

When it comes to the situation in the north of Kosovo and Metohija, the Serbian Foreign Minister pointed out that the deescalation of tensions should be the priority, primarily in order to protect the rights of the Serb population, as well as the necessity of full implementation of the Brussels Agreement and the formation of the Community of Serb Municipalities.

Special Envoy for the Balkans René Troccaz informed about the nature of his mission and emphasized that, while planning a visit to the region of the Western Balkans, he chose to visit Belgrade first. He pointed out that, when it comes to the north of Kosovo and Metohija, the primary goal was the stabilization of the situation and the normalization of relations. He reiterated the further support of France to the process of European integration of Serbia and the region.
