Condolence messages from diplomats from all over the world
Numerous foreign diplomats accredited in Belgrade expressed today their condolences and conveyed messages of support to the families of the victims killed in the tragic events in Vračar and Mladenovac, as well as all Serbian citizens.
Diplomatic representatives of France, Sweden, Türkiye, Germany, People’s Republic of China, Great Britain, Russian Federation, Hungary, Syria, Ukraine, Poland, Morocco, Austria, Kazakhstan, Cyprus, Greece, North Macedonia, Belgium, Argentina, Switzerland, Kuwait, Iran, USA, Australia, Slovakia, Vatican, Japan, Georgia, Belarus, Spain, Malaysia, India, Brazil, Finland, Mexico, Palestine, Egypt, Iraq, Qatar, Denmark, Slovenia, Cuba, South Korea, Indonesia, Norway, Portugal, Netherlands, Cambodia, Azerbaijan, Montenegro, DR of the Congo, Albania, Angola, Myanmar, Israel, Somalia, Pakistan, UAE, Lebanon, Czech Republic, Romania, Croatia, Bulgaria, Italy, Venezuela, Algeria and EU, UN, NATO, OSCE, IMF, EC, CoE missions to Serbia, conveyed today, on behalf of their countries and international organisations, condolence messages and wishes for speedy recovery of the injured.
“Where you are, there is no sun and light, only your smile lives on in our hearts. No one knows how it hurts when we realize you’re gone,“ are the lyrics of the well-known Slovenian song, with which Goranka Krošelj, Chargé d'affaires of the Embassy of the Republic of Slovenia, said goodbye to the innocent victims.
The Ambassador of the United States of America, Cristopher Hill, who like several colleagues, laid flowers and lit a candle in front of the Vladislav Ribnikar School, said that in a time of deep sadness the United States is with Serbian people and expressed hope that all the injured would recover quickly and return to their families.
”Fondly remembering our cooperation with this school, we would like to express deepest condolences to the grieving families, wider school community and the Serbian people – you are in our thoughts and prayers,“ Sian MacLeod, British Ambassador, wrote in Serbian in the Book of Condolence.
On behalf of the Russian Federation, Ambassador Alexander Botsan-Kharchenko expressed condolences and said that Russian people are support to Serbia in these difficult moments.
“May God give peace to the families with whom we sincerely sympathize“, wrote Bassel Ahmed, Ambassador of Egypt.
After expressing deepest condolences at the today’s meeting with Minister Dačić, Chinese Ambassador Chen Bo signed the Book of Condolence.
Books of Condolence are opened in all Serbian diplomatic and consular missions in the world where our colleagues receive officials and citizens who wish to pay tribute to the innocent victims and express solidarity with the Serbian citizens.
Condolence messages of foreign colleagues from all over the world also arrive through social media. "Georgia is with you in this time of pain," is a message on Twitter account of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia. "France is with Serbia", says the French MFA on their Twitter account, and similar messages are sent by the diplomats of Romania, Bulgaria, Armenia, Belgium, Ukraine, Norway, Montenegro and many other countries. "EU is with Serbia", is written, inter alia, by the Head of the Delegation of the European Union to Serbia, Emanuele Giaufret on Twitter; while on the account of the Embassy of the Republic of Poland solidarity in action can be seen: "The representatives of the Embassy, Consul Kamila Duda-Kavetzka and Colonel Dominik Konieczny, responded today to the public call and donated blood at the Blood Transfusion Institute of Serbia.“ Numerous Embassies in Belgrade post photographs of national flags flying at half mast.
