Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Security Policy, Ambassador Dijana Ivančić, today received a group of attendees of the 33rd session of the French Foundation for Strategic Mediterranean Studies. During the meeting, she emphasised the main geopolitical challenges the Republic of Serbia was facing, as well as the impact of the Russian-Ukrainian conflict on our country and the entire region of South East Europe.

The delegation was led by French General of Aviation Patrick Lefebvre, and the attendees were representatives of the French Ministry of Defence, the Commissariat for Atomic Energy, the French Space Agency, the Navy and the most important companies in the defence industry.

In her address, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Dijana Ivančić, referred to the traditionally good relations between Serbia and France and introduced the attendees to the key political and security issues for Serbia and the region of South East Europe. She pointed out that the "geopolitical earthquake" in the form of the Russian-Ukrainian conflict hit Serbia and the entire region of South East Europe as expected, due to the obvious geographical proximity, but also the multidimensional political, energy and economic aspects of the crisis.
