Selaković: "Open Balkans" is a truly historic agreement

02. Aug 2021.
The agreement between the three countries within the "Open Balkans" initiative is truly historic, because in history, things that were characteristic of the Balkan peoples and states, which they came to themselves, are very rare, almost non-existent, said the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Serbia Nikola Selaković today.

Speaking about the "Open Balkans" initiative, he said that the three countries, Serbia, Northern Macedonia and Albania, had agreed to make a serious step forward, which would only bring good to them and their citizens.

"I am convinced of that," Selaković emphasized, answering the questions of journalists in Nis.

If, as he says, one looks, on the one hand, at the political vision and wisdom of Aleksandar Vučić, Edi Rama and Zoran Zaev, as well as the support of the foreign ministers of the Visegrad Group, which represents a good model within the EU countries, that once gathered and agreed on their initiative, he is convinced that this is the "right thing".

"And every new agreement will only improve the quality of this initiative, and our peoples and economies will have the opportunity to see a lot of good from that", said Selaković.
