22. Dec 2022.
First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dačić received Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to the Republic of Serbia Lee Jaewoong for a courtesy visit today.

In a cordial conversation, Minister Dačić thanked Ambassador Lee for his efforts on strengthening the overall bilateral relations during his mandate in Serbia. He particularly emphasised that he was ready to personally contribute to further improvement of friendly relations between Serbia and Korea, and stressed that the cooperation between the two countries was constantly strengthening in all segments, especially in the field of economy.

Ambassador Lee congratulated Minister Dačić on his reappointment as the First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs. He praised the recent meeting between Prime Minister of the Republic of Serbia Ana Brnabić and Prime Minister of the Republic of Korea Han Duck-soo in Paris in the margins of the General Assembly of the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE), stating that it was very constructive for further improvement of the political dialogue, and that he hoped Prime Minister Han would soon visit Serbia.

He also highlighted intensification of economic cooperation as his priority, and said that he would be advocating for a considerable increase of the trade, and for bringing the largest Korean companies - such as Hyundai, Kia, Samsung and others - to Serbia in the period ahead.

Minister Dačić and Ambassador Lee agreed that there was a considerable potential for further development of overall relations between Serbia and Korea in many areas of common interest, including cooperation in international forums.
