Kozarev meets with Mexican Ambassador

The Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia, Dušan Kozarev, met today with the Ambassador of the United Mexican States to Serbia, Carlos Isaura Félix Corona.

Recognizing that Serbia and Mexico have nurtured decades-long friendly relations based on mutual respect and understanding between the two nations, the interlocutors agreed that there is always room to further enhance political dialogue. They also discussed the upcoming visit of the Secretary General to Mexico City.

A particular interest was expressed in strengthening cooperation between the diplomatic academies of the two foreign ministries through educational initiatives and study visits for young diplomats.

Considering next year marking eight decades since the establishment of diplomatic relations between Serbia and Mexico, both sides agreed to commemorate this anniversary through joint celebrations and events.

Kozarev briefed the ambassador on the current situation and the preliminary results of the elections in Kosovo and Metohija, expressing special gratitude to Mexico for its consistent support of Serbia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as for its backing on all matters of key national and state interest.

During today’s meeting, the Secretary General also expressed satisfaction with Mexico’s confirmed participation in the upcoming Expo 2027 exhibition in Belgrade, emphasizing that this event will provide an excellent opportunity to present the rich culture and traditions of Mexico in the best feasible way.
