23. Apr 2025.
The Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia, Dušan Kozarev, met today with the Ambassador of the Republic of Belarus to Serbia, H.E. Sergey Malinovsky.

Recalling the traditionally friendly relations, strong cooperation, and close ties between the peoples of Serbia and Belarus, Secretary General Kozarev underlined Serbia’s commitment to further developing cooperation with Belarus in all areas of mutual interest. He also expressed satisfaction with the positive momentum of the ongoing political dialogue.

Secretary General Kozarev briefed Ambassador Malinovsky on the situation in Kosovo and Metohija, developments in the region, as well as other current affairs in Serbia.

He noted that Serbia has, over the past six months, been exposed to attempts to instigate a color revolution, with particular reference to efforts aimed at provoking violence through the blockade of the national public broadcaster. In this context, he emphasized the damaging effects such actions have on the country’s economy and business environment, highlighting the importance of safeguarding stability and ensuring the regular functioning of institutions.

Kozarev once again conveyed his appreciation for Belarus’s principled and consistent support for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Serbia, both bilaterally and within international organizations.

The two interlocutors also discussed cooperation between their respective foreign ministries, the strengthening of ties between their diplomatic academies, and opportunities for training and professional exchanges.

On the topic of economic cooperation, Secretary General Kozarev noted that the existing potential significantly exceeds the current level of exchange and conveyed Serbia’s interest in enhancing economic ties, particularly in the fields of agriculture, food production, information technology, and innovation.

During the meeting, Ambassador Malinovsky delivered a congratulatory letter from the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus, H.E. Maksim Ryzhenkov, on the reappointment of Marko Đurić as Minister of Foreign Affairs.
