Jovanović confers with the Regional Director of the World Health Organization Office in Serbia

A number of topics of mutual interest were discussed, with particular emphasis on enhancing cooperation between the Republic of Serbia and the World Health Organization in the field of public health and in responding to contemporary health challenges.

The interlocutors assessed that there is significant scope for further deepening the partnership, especially in the areas of prevention, health security, strengthening the capacities of health institutions, as well as through joint programmes and initiatives aimed at protecting public health.

State Secretary Jovanović underscored the Republic of Serbia’s commitment to continuing close and constructive cooperation with the WHO, highlighting the importance of the Organization’s expert and technical support in the formulation and implementation of policies in line with international standards.

Director of the Office Fabio Scano welcomed the cooperation to date and reaffirmed the World Health Organization’s readiness to continue providing support to Serbia in further strengthening its health system and improving the health of its citizens.
