Jovanović Confers with Italian Minister for European Affairs Tommaso Foti

The State Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Nevena Jovanović met today in Skopje, on the sidelines of the 11th Forum of the European Union Strategy for the Adriatic and Ionian Region (EUSAIR), with Italy’s Minister for European Affairs, the National Recovery and Resilience Plan, and Cohesion Policies, Tommaso Foti.

During the open and constructive discussion, the interlocutors assessed that bilateral relations between Serbia and Italy are at an extremely prominent level, marked by an intensive political dialogue and close economic cooperation, which possesses significant potential for further enhancement.

The meeting also addressed the process of European integration of the Republic of Serbia and the Western Balkans, with particular emphasis placed on Italy’s strong and continuous support for the European path of the region.

Jovanović and Foti jointly noted that the future of the Western Balkans lies in the European Union, assessing that the continuation of the enlargement process is of importance both for the region and for the overall stability and prosperity of Europe.
