Jovanović Confers with Director-General of the European Commission’s Directorate for Regions

The State Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Nevena Jovanović met today in Skopje, on the sidelines of the 11th Forum of the European Union Strategy for the Adriatic and Ionian Region (EUSAIR), with Acting Director-General of the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Regional and Urban Policy Hugo Sobral.
During the meeting, the interlocutors noted the need for further strengthening cooperation within the framework of EUSAIR, as well as the importance of the continued active engagement of the European Commission in the implementation of activities under the Strategy.
Jovanović and Sobral underlined that the future of the Western Balkans lies in membership in the European Union, jointly assessing that macro-regional cooperation represents an important instrument for further connectivity, as well as for preserving the stability of the European continent.
