Jovanović confers with Deputy Director of the Office for Western and Central Europe at the U.S. Department of State

The State Secretary in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia, Nevena Jovanović, met today with Lyn Debevoise, Deputy Director of the Office for Western and Central Europe at the United States Department of State.

It was assessed that there is significant potential for further enhancing cooperation and strengthening the partnership between Serbia and the United States, particularly in areas of mutual interest.

The two sides discussed prospects for deepening cooperation within economic and investment initiatives, expressing mutual interest in reinforcing the institutional ties between the two countries.

Both interlocutors expressed confidence that the forthcoming establishment of the Strategic Dialogue will contribute to further strengthening political communication and expanding cooperation in areas of shared interest, including, among others, the economy, energy, defense, and modern technologies.

The importance of preserving regional stability as an essential precondition for more comprehensive cooperation across the Western Balkans was particularly underlined. In this context, Jovanović reaffirmed the Republic of Serbia’s commitment to the principles of good-neighborly relations, constructive dialogue, and strengthening mutual trust and understanding, and expressed gratitude to the U.S. side for its engagement in supporting stability in the region.
